DASH Services is a joint-working initiative with Local Authorities, property owners, landlords and tenants. DASH aims to improve housing conditions in the private sector, with particular emphasis on the private rented sector.
The service has operated successfully across the East Midlands region for a number of years, providing a valuable low cost service to over 40 Local Authorities.
An accreditation with DASH brings a badge of good practise along with market advantages when looking for new tenants and a financial discount for licensing fees.
Nottingham City Council supports the Nottingham Standard accreditation license, a unique accreditation for Nottingham; landlords with a DASH accreditation receive a reduced fee when applying for their license.
Part of the licensing conditions includes landlords providing ‘evidence of relevant training’ to ensure a level of professionalism is held by all licensed landlords. DASH developed an online course for landlords to complete with accompanying webinars, blogs, face to face training and additional online support for landlords who desire additional training.
Overall this provides an established minimum standard for privately rented accommodation throughout Nottingham. Any DASH Accredited landlord in the East Midlands also uphold these minimum standards.
Linda Cobb, DASH Manager said:
“I’m very proud of the DASH team for accrediting so many landlords in the last 9 months. We’ve greatly exceeded our expectations. We want everyone to have the opportunity to live in a safe, warm, secure, good quality home – this takes us one step closer to our goal.”
