£567,395 has been awarded to organisations in Derby by The National Lottery Community Fund, to help our local communities to thrive.
Around 1,600 community–led projects across England are celebrating after being awarded more than £58 million.
The National Lottery Community Fund is responsible for giving out money raised by National Lottery players for good causes.
Last year it awarded over half a billion pounds (£511.1 million) of life-changing funding to communities across the UK and supported over 12,000 projects to turn their great ideas into reality.
Below are some of the deserving organisations in Derby to have had the funding.

|The Derby Bosnia Hercegovina Community Association||The Refugees Support Refugees Plus||This group will continue to work in partnership with the Derby Refugee Forum to provide a wide range of services for all refugees and asylum seekers. They will build on learning and relationships developed during a number of pilot projects, further strengthen capacity, and focus on future sustainability. Holistic services such as maths and IT classes and cultural activities will also be provided. Annually, the group supports over 4,000 people.|
|First Steps||Technology Enabled Care Support (TECS)||The funding will be used to establish ways of providing support for people living with eating disorders. The project aims to address the high number of referrals to the organisation by providing support online and over the telephone.|
|Upbeat Communities||Firm Foundations||The funding will be used to deliver a support programme for children who are refugees and asylum-seekers. The project aims to aid children with developing life skills and relationships that will support their integration into local communities.|
|Solid Rock Community Project Ltd||The Champions||The funding will be used to provide mentorship and training to young people. The project aims to engage more young people in education to help them succeed and develop a positive vision for the future.|
|Music Plus Trust Ltd||Vocalise!||The funding will be used to deliver a music and singing project for children who are refugees. The project aims to create new relationships, build confidence and combat isolation.|
|Chaddesden Park Primary School||Chad Outdoor Learning Hub||The funding will be used to develop an outdoor learning hub for local children. The project aims to create a community resource which supports personal development.|
|Parents and Carers In Performing Arts||Balancing Act – East Midlands||The funding will be used to deliver career surgeries, workshops and networking sessions for parents and carers of older people. This will enable participants to increase their confidence, wellbeing and potential employment opportunities.|
|Gift Wellness Foundation||Let’s Talk. Period.||The funding will be used to provide address period poverty. The project aims to improve awareness of menstruation and support young women within ethnic minority communities.|
|Save Your Soul Society||Yoga for health and Happiness||The funding will be used to run yoga classes for local women. The project aims to bring together women of Asian and Mediterranean descent who may otherwise experience social isolation.|
|Headway Derby||Out Of The Abyss||The funding will be used to employ a support worker for adults that have been affected by brain injury. The project aims to continue delivery of non-clinical peer, therapeutic and rehabilitative activities.|
|Common Threads||Common Threads||The funding will be used to deliver a community textile programme for people experiencing loneliness and those living with mental ill-health. This will enable participants to build friendships and support networks.|
|Sahahra||Healthy Together||The funding will be used to raise awareness of health issues whilst encouraging people to stay healthy and active. The project aims to address health issues in a culturally appropriate way at an early stage.|
|Global Education Derby||How Others Respond||The funding will be used to deliver workshops for young members of the Lesbian, Gay, Bisexual and Transgender community culminating in a performance at a local Pride event. The project aims to increase participants’ confidence, skills and resilience.|
|Derby Signfest||Derby Signfest September 2019||The funding will be used to run a festival to celebrate the successes of people living with hearing impairments. The project aims to improve the visibility of the local deaf community.|
|Derbyshire LGBT+ Ltd||Derby Pride 2019||The funding will be used to deliver a one day festival for the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgender and wider community. The project aims to break down social barriers and encourage community engagement.|
