Derby’s Cathedral Quarter (QC) Business Improvement District (BID) has out-stripped rivals in a National competition to be crowned Britain’s best City Location.
The results, announced yesterday (Monday 12th December) saw the QC beat Bristol’s Broadmead and Norwich’s Castle Arcade District. The city centre area is home to Derby’s historic cathedral, Iron Gate and Sadler Gate shopping areas, including a number of small, independent stores.
Councillor Martin Rawson, Deputy Council leader and Cabinet Member for Communities and City Centre Regeneration said:
“This win is a fantastic achievement for the Cathedral Quarter and Derby. It shows that even with all the difficulties the city has faced, we still have a strong and attractive economy and a bustling city environment that people love and want to visit.”
Derby City Council are committed to supporting Derby’s Cathedral Quarter through services provided through the business rates. You can find out more about what’s on in the Cathedral Quarter but visiting their website, or following them on Twitter and Facebook.
