Derbyshire Healthcare NHS Foundation Trust has recently confirmed Ifti Majid as its substantive Chief Executive. This appointment was confirmed at a meeting of the Trust’s Council of Governors.

A registered mental health nurse by background, Ifti has worked for the Trust for the last 20 years and has been the Trust’s Acting Chief Executive since 2015.

The Trust’s Chair, Caroline Maley, said she was delighted to confirm the appointment:

“It is clear that the Trust has made a number of significant improvements under Ifti’s leadership over the last two years.  I am delighted that he has been appointed as the Trust’s permanent Chief Executive and that Ifti will continue to lead the organisation, providing stable and ongoing leadership.  I am confident that Ifti has the full support of the Board of Directors, Council of Governors and our staff in fulfilling this role on an ongoing basis”.

Ifti Majid said:

“I feel incredibly honoured to be appointed as the Trust’s Chief Executive.  I am fully committed to continuing to lead the Trust on its journey of improvement – to ensure local people have access to the very best local health services that we can provide.  The Trust provides a range of NHS services, delivered by staff who continue to impress me with their commitment and care on a daily basis.  I am delighted to continue working with our teams, our patients, partners, carers and all our stakeholders for the foreseeable future”.

Ifti Majid formally commenced in his role as Chief Executive on Friday 6 October.
