A recruitment drive is underway to find ‘local heroes’ to become school crossing patrols.
Derby City Council is calling on people to come forward to fill vacancies at eight patrol sites across the city, to help children and other pedestrians cross safely on their journey to and from school.
The crossing patrols sites with vacancies are:
- Abbey Street, Derby
- Alvaston Street, Alvaston
- Dale Road, Spondon
- Nightingale Road, Derby
- Perth Street, Chaddesden
- Reginald Street, Derby
- Uttoxeter New Road, Derby
In addition, we also have a vacancy for a Mobile School Crossing Patrol, to cover various locations across the City.
Councillor Asaf Afzal, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Public Protection said:
“The school crossing patrols provide an extremely important road safety service that parents and children rely upon to help them on their journey to and from school. We are hoping that more local heroes come forward to help more children cross our roads safely.”
If you think you could be our next local hero, and become a School Crossing Patrol, apply online now, on our website. For an informal discussion or for more information please contact 01332 641769.
