Derby City Council is advising local residents and businesses that the Council Tax, Housing Benefits and Business Rates computer systems will be unavailable from 12 noon on Friday 2nd March until mid-morning on Monday 5th March.
This service closure takes places annually so that Council Tax bills, Business Rates bills, Housing Benefit and Council Tax Support letters can be prepared for the coming financial year.
During this period the customer service advisors at the Council House will not be able to answer any enquiries about Council Tax or Business Rates either over the phone or in person. Residents will however, be able to call for general enquiries about Housing Benefits until 3.00pm on Friday 2nd March and then again from 9am on Monday 5th March, although no appointments service will be available.
Additionally, the Council Tax, Business Rates and Housing Benefits online portal will be unavailable during this time.
Online forms including Housing Benefit claims, change of circumstances, change of address and all Business Rates forms will be available.
All other services at the Council House will be open and available as normal.
It is planned that the systems will be up and running as normal by mid-morning on Monday 5th March.
The Council aims to minimise disruption by starting the work on a Friday afternoon and then working over the weekend. The Council is asking customers to please be patient during the short time that some services aren’t available.
