Derby City Council is advising local residents and businesses that the Council Tax, Housing Benefits and Business Rates computer systems will be unavailable from 12 noon on Friday 3rd March until 10.30am on Monday 6th March so the 2017-18 Council Tax bills, Business Rates bills and Benefit letters can be prepared. This is an annual process that is undertaken to ensure that bills and letters can be correctly processed.
During this period the customer service advisors at the Council House will not be able to answer any enquires about Council Tax, Housing Benefits or Business Rates either over the phone or in person. All other services at the Council House will be open and available as normal.
It is planned that the systems will be back up and running as normal by 10.30am on Monday 6th March.
The Council aims to minimise disruption by starting the work on a Friday afternoon and is asking customers to please be patient with us during that time, and to understand that we won’t be able to answer questions about Council Tax, Housing Benefit or Business Rates matters during this time.
