The return of the St Peters Quarter Business Improvement District (BID) has been welcomed by the Council.
Deputy Leader Martin Rawson has highlighted the role of the business community as a vital partner to create and maintain a vibrant city centre.
“Together, the public and private sectors have achieved significant results by working together and I look forward to that continued relationship.”
Cllr Rawson, who has responsibility for city centre regeneration, says that the Council looks forward to working with the BID on redevelopment of the Becketwell area, off Victoria Street, as well as on the Townscape Heritage Initiative projects to assist with building improvements along Green Lane both of which are within the St Peters Quarter.
“During its first term, the St Peters Quarter BID achieved very noticeable results by making the area safe and inviting to visitors and local people alike.
This work was noticeably absent during its hiatus and I am pleased that local businesses have rallied around the effort to reinstate the BID.
I look forward to a fruitful and mutually beneficial working relationship with the BID.”
