Dale Road Drainage Improvements

Work continues to improve the drainage system on Dale Road in Spondon.

Dale Road is a busy route which runs through Spondon village towards the city centre and the improvements will ensure that it is protected during adverse weather conditions.

The road currently suffers from standing water issues, which is a danger to road users as cars run through deep puddles,  but also at times, can cause front gardens of properties to be flooded with water coming off of the road.

The new drainage system will also help to reduce future maintenance costs as the road gullies have been purposely designed to be bigger to stop debris and other pollutants before it blocks the drains.

The work which is taking place between the junctions of Dreyfus Close and Glendale Drive  includes the construction of a new highway drain along the outbound side of the carriageway together with approximately 15 new double highways gullies spaced at suitable locations along each side of the carriageway.
