Dale was a much respected, trusted, valued and above all much loved member of the Highway Maintenance team, a team that he worked in for 32 years.

He passed away suddenly aged 52 on April 10th whilst on holiday in Lanzarote. All of the Highway Maintenance team will be in attendance at his funeral tomorrow (10th May). The team have so far raised around £600 and his wife Lyn has asked that it be donated to Mind, mental health was a something that Dale cared deeply about, he always wanted to help people, even though he had his own struggles from time to time.

Donations can still be made at: memorygiving.com/dalewardle

Outside of work Dale was a big Derby County supporter and he would often say before a night out ‘let’s paint the town black and white’. Dale loved life and all of his Facebook posts were finished with the phrase ‘good times’. These two sayings sum him up perfectly and we would like to extend our love and sympathy to Lyn, Aiden, Emma and Kenley at this very sad time.

Rest in Peace Dale, Highways won’t be the same without you
