Following the success of our recruitment event in January, we are delighted to announce our next event which will be held on Saturday June 24th at 10.00am to 12 noon at Derby County Football Club. Anyone who is considering fostering is welcome.

Current foster carer Margaret Sidders said:

“Great recruitment event at the Mickleover Court Hotel, enjoyed sharing my families fostering journey. I met some lovely couples, who I hope will go on to be foster carers for Derby City Council.”

This event is to attract those people interested in finding out more about becoming a foster carer, to meet our professional fostering team and some of our current foster carers.

Councillor Sara Bolton Cabinet Member for Children and Young People and Safeguarding said:

“It is a pleasure for me to support this campaign and help to create interest in foster caring.”

“I hope that many of those who come along to the event will go on to foster with us. It is such a rewarding and fulfilling role which makes a huge difference to our children in care.”

Derby City Council’s own professional fostering team and our established, highly trained foster carers will all take part in the event. Current foster carers will providing a first-hand account of their own experiences of foster caring and get to the very essence of what fostering is all about.
