Spring is here, and the Grounds Maintenance team has been hard at work sprucing up the Pentagon Island floral display.

This fresh new display has been planted to read ‘Derby in Bloom’; Yew bushes (Taxus baccata) make up the lettering, while the background comprises Pachysandra terminalis – a ground cover plant which has a pale green leaf with a white flower. It has been planted for the start of springtime, with the arrival of longer days and warmer weather.

The remaining sections of the display will be completed in the next few months, when the summer bedding arrives.

Here are some of the pictures of the blooming marvellous work the Grounds Maintenance team has done.
