Last week (Friday 24th July)  we opened up the new Derby Market Place al fresco dining experience, and ‘AV IT Media were on hand to film and photograph the event.

Visitors were entertained by music and carnival performers, and after speeches from Cllr Chris Poulter, Leader of Derby City Council, and Cllr Robin Wood, Cabinet Member for Culture, Leisure and Tourism, they were able to start ordering in food from their favourite local restaurants.

The area is open to the public at lunchtime every day with additional hours in the evening on Thursday, Friday and Saturday.  Full opening hours are available on the here.

Visitors can reserve a table for up to six people either outside or in one of the 30 chalets, and consume food that they have either purchased from city outlets beforehand, or ordered online and have it delivered right to their tables.  A licensed bar is also be available for diners to purchase drinks to enjoy with their food.
