D2 SEB (Derby & Derbyshire Skills & Employment Board), South Derbyshire District Council and Burton & South Derbyshire College are working in partnership to deliver an Employer Engagement Event on Wednesday 29 March, 10am until 12.30pm.
The event will be held at Burton & South Derbyshire College’s Construction Campus, 21 Tetron Point, William Nadin Way, Swadlincote, Derbyshire DE11 OBB.
During the event a series of presentations from local businesses across the five sectors Engineering, Construction, Logistics & Distribution, Health & Social Care, and Visitor Economy will be delivered.
This will be followed by discussions with representatives from secondary schools and providers providing delegates with the opportunity to gain new information and develop partnership activities to address the challenges of the local skills agenda.
It will bring together all parties including local schools, employers and providers to discuss what the issues are and to draw on the sector representative’s experience to look to develop actions which can address these issues.
Through collaborative thinking the event will seek to develop solutions that achieve everyone’s aims/aspirations.
