The first Derby Poetry Festival will take place over four days between Thursday 23rd and Sunday 26th November 2017.
The festival is being organised by a Derby based community interest company and has the support of Derby City Council, Derby Live and Writing East Midlands.
Manchester Poet Tony Walsh will feature in the opening event at Quad on Thursday 23rd with Linton Kwesi Johnson headlining with support at the venue on Saturday 25th November.
A free event to launch the publication of an anthology of Refugee Poetry, organised with the City of Sanctuary and Derby Live, will take place in the Guildhall clubrooms on Saturday afternoon.
The will be a series of free poetry workshops in the city and further headline events will be announced for Friday 24th and Sunday 26th November over the coming week.
