The 2018 Garden Recycling Scheme is coming to an end. The final collections of the Scheme will take place between Tuesday 6th and Friday 16th November.
We will shortly be delivering postcards to all Garden Recycling Scheme customers to let you know that the collections are ending. These will include more specific information about when your last collection will be.
Please check our bin day look-up tool to see your full collection schedule.
Cllr Jonathan Smale, Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Streetpride, said:
We would like to thank everyone who has taken part in this year’s Scheme. Together, we have been able to recycle over 3,400 tonnes of garden waste since the first collections in April.
Our administration has pledged to return to a free Garden Recycling Scheme, starting in Spring 2019. Councillors are now working with officers to see how this can be funded and to develop the plans for rolling this out across the city. Information about the 2019 Scheme will be announced as soon as a plan is confirmed.
Please keep an eye out on our Newsroom and social media channels for details about garden recycling collections in 2019.
In the meantime, if you would like to continue recycling your garden waste, you can take it to Raynesway Household Waste and Recycling Centre. Alternatively, home composting will help you manage your garden waste through the winter months before the 2019 Scheme begins.
