QUAD will celebrate International Women’s Day and Derby Irish Festival with events in March.
A craft workshop with local artist Helen Jackson offers a chance to explore the importance of woman in society. International Women’s Day Celebration Workshop is a free event suitable for all ages taking place in QUAD on Saturday 11th March, drop in from 11:00am to 4:00pm.
QUAD celebrates Derby Irish Festival with a film and night of music in QUAD Café Bar. From the director of Once, Sing Street is a film set against the backdrop of 1980s Dublin. Teenager Conor is coping with tense family relationships, re-connecting with this older brother and life at a new public school. Then he meets a girl, so to impress her he decides to start a band! Sing Street (12A) screens in QUAD on Wednesday 15th March at 6:15pm. After the film there will be a live Irish music in the Café bar courtesy of the Derby Irish Festival. Tickets for the film are £8.20 or £7.00 concessions, entrance to the Café bar is free.
