Job seekers in the city are invited to a jobs fair this Thursday (23 February) from 10.00am to 2.00pm hosted by Derby City Council in partnership with the Department of Work and Pensions (DWP).

The fair is being held at The Spot Conference Centre (Wilmot Street West, Derby) where job seekers will be able to talk to over 40 employers including East Midlands Airport, UPS, Stadium TM, Allied Healthcare, Trent Barton, 2 Sisters Group, Erewash Partnership, Avon, Encore Recruitment, Mediline, Direct Help and Advice and many more. Support such as CV writing will also be available on the day.

Councillor Lisa Eldret, Cabinet Member for Jobs and Fair Employment said:

The Council are committed to helping people access employment opportunities and the jobs fair is the result of excellent partnership working with JobcentrePlus and local and regional employers. I know the fair will generate a lot of interest and there will be an opportunity for people to talk directly to employers about vacancies. If you are looking for a job or a change of career, come to the jobs fair to see what’s on offer.

DWP JobcentrePlus added:

We are delighted to be working in partnership with Derby City Council, to provide the Jobs Fair. We are hopeful we can make a difference to communities and the lives of jobseekers in Derby and Derbyshire. It is heartening that so many employers are supporting the event and that we will have hundreds of jobs to offer across a range of sectors; hopefully there is something for everyone.
