Queen’s Leisure Centre will be offering a new extended pool programme from the 1 July.
The new programme includes dedicated women only swim times and additional aqua aerobic sessions. Public swim sessions will be extended, with additional lane swimming sessions taking place on selected evenings.
During the school summer holidays there will be a programme that caters for all ages and abilities in the water, with fitness, fun, lessons, family splash or a bit of chill out time. As part of the changes local performance swim clubs and recreational clubs will have more pool time.
Cllr Amo Raju, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism, said:
“We are focussed on improving swimming for people in Derby. Progress continues to be made on a swimming pool complex on the Moorways site and we have a new improved pool programme that utilises all the pools at Queen’s. The new programme is certainly a step in the right direction but we will need to continue to improve swimming in Derby in the years to come.”
