Sign up before Friday 1st March to enjoy collections from as early as April.

To register, visit our website:

What options for registration are there?

There are three versions of registration:

  1. If you have taken part in this year’s chargeable scheme, you will automatically be registered for free collections starting in April 2019. You do not need to fill in the registration form – all you will need to do is put your bin out on the right day!
  2. If you have not taken part in the chargeable scheme, but you do have a brown bin at your address, register by Friday 1st March for free collections to start in April 2019. Just visit our website to register.
  3. If you do not have a brown bin at your address, you can still register by Friday 1st March 2019 for free collections to start no later than August 2019. This will give us time to order and deliver your bin. Just visit our website to register.

More information about registration for the Garden Recycling Scheme and full terms and conditions can be found on our website.

Register for free garden recycling collectionsWhat can I put in my garden recycling bin?

You can put any of the following in your brown bin:

  • Grass
  • Leaves
  • Flowers
  • Small twigs
  • Food waste! New for 2019, you can now recycle any odds and ends from your kitchen in your brown bin.

Help us to recycle all that we can – please don’t put garden or food waste in your black (general waste) bin.

Do I have to pay for anything?

Please dig out your old brown bins and register to join the scheme. But if you do not have a usable brown bin at your address, you will be eligible for one free brown bin. Each additional bin after that will cost £40.

If you do currently have one or more usable brown bin(s), you will be able to use these from the start of your collections, free of charge. If you decide you would like an additional bin, each one will cost £40. This charge is for the administration and delivery of the bin, rather than the collections.

When will I find out my collection schedule?

We will contact you by email or letter (depending on how you register) to let you know all the relevant information before your collections are due to begin.

Closer to the time, you can check our bin day look-up tool to see which day your bin will be collected on. Please note: not everyone will have their brown bin collected on the same day as their blue bin. Please check carefully when your information is sent to you.
