Two upcoming events in Derby will help to promote small businesses in the city as part of the national Small Business Saturday campaign.

On Monday 7th November, the Small Business Saturday UK Tour Bus is coming to Derby. The bus will be on the Market Place between 10.00am and 1.00pm with a variety of promotional activity to engage small businesses. Everyone is welcome!

Derby City Council is holding a business support event on the day of the national campaign, Saturday 3rd December. The event will include a business support exhibition, workshops about running a successful business and opportunities to meet local entrepreneurs. The event will run from 9.30am to 1.00pm at the Council House.  All small business owners and entrepreneurs are invited to book a place via the Eventbrite website.

The event is part of the UK’s Small Business Saturday campaign and is supported by local entrepreneur, Yvonne Gorman from Essential Print Services who will host the event.  Yvonne said: “Small Business Saturday plays a valuable role in focusing the minds of consumers and fellow business owners on what small businesses can offer – their range of products and services is immense. Most people in this country either own a small business, work for a small business or know somebody who does so, I am delighted to have been asked to champion Small Business Saturday in the Derby region. I want people to remember that by making just a small purchase in an independent business, they will make a big difference.”

Chris Pook, Economic Regeneration Strategy manager at Derby City Council said:

“Derby City Council are delighted to once again promote the Small Business Saturday campaign in Derby. We have a thriving small business community and want to showcase the wide variety of support that’s available to local companies and entrepreneurs to help them create and grow sustainable enterprises.”
