Derby residents have been having a good Spring clean this year, and have taken advantage of our free compactor days around the city.
We sent our compactor to different areas of Derby, offering people the chance to dispose of household and garden waste.
At the Osmaston event on Monday 26th March, we collected a variety of materials, from furniture to bags of garden waste, amounting to 8.5 tonnes over the course of the day.
At the event in Sinfin on Monday 9th April, roughly 11 tonnes of rubbish were collected, in some cases preventing the city streets from being fly tipped.
This service has been run by the Neighbourhood and Waste Management teams. Working with the people of Derby to deliver the best service possible is a priority, so we were glad to see so many residents engaging with our events.
Since January, we have visited various areas of the city over 17 sessions, including Spondon, Darley, Normanton, Boulton, Abbey and Chaddesden. Thank you to everyone who contributed to the success of these events.
