Cabinet Member for Neighbourhoods and Public Protection, Councillor Asaf Afzal attended the  Srebrenica commemoration day at the Bosnia and Herzegovina Centre.

Councillor Afzal said:

I had a very warm welcome and thank the members for an  extremely wonderful and positive time. It was a humbling occasion and I was honoured to deliver a speech and to reinforce the message of peace and togetherness.

We must never forget the atrocities that hatred has done to the people of this world reminding us that unity, patience, trust and understanding are key in building our  communities. People have the right to live in a tolerant, diverse society where differences are recognised and respected.”
