The third Derby Book Festival includes over 70 events for all ages and interests in venues across the city.
It starts on Friday 9 June with author Sebastian Faulks in Derby Cathedral from 7.30 -9pm at the Opening Event, sponsored by Peveril Homes. After his event you can follow the Fire Trail to the Silk Mill.
Families can enjoy a range of events throughout the week including a full day of activities in the Market Place at the free Bringing Books to Life event on Saturday 10 June from 10am – 3.30pm.
This year’s programme also includes Alan Johnson MP with Matthew Parris, Reverend Richard Coles, Jenny Eclair, historian Alison Weir, Dame Jenni Murray, Sarah Perry (The Essex Serpent), architectural historian Dan Cruickshank, performance poet John Hegley, comic Shappi Khorsandi, Tim Dowling, Louise Doughty (Apple Tree Yard) Stephen Booth and local ‘Derbyshire Noir’ crime writers and Salley Vickers (Miss Garnet’s Angel).
