Crowdfund Derby is an innovative scheme launched by Derby City Council and Crowdfunder UK earlier this year, in partnership with Community Action Derby. It provides a space for Derby based groups to raise awareness and funds for activities that are important to them and their community.

Once an eligible project has raised 25% of their fundraising target from multiple pledges, Derby City Council may pledge to fund a further 25% of the target up to a maximum of £5,000.

Next month, those who are serious about getting the best possible start to secure funding for their project are being invited to attend workshops organised by Community Action Derby. The two hour events offer advice and guidance about developing an engaging and informative Crowdfunder profile plus, what you can do to make sure your project gets off the ground including some social media best practise to reach the crowds who want to fund you.

When: Monday 4th September, 10.00am – 12 noon and Thursday 14 September, 2.00pm – 4.00pm

Where: Community Action, 4 Charnwood Street, Derby, DE1 2GT

How: For a booking form email either Liz Gumbley or Nick Pritchard

Councillor Amo Raju, Cabinet Member for Leisure, Culture and Tourism comments:

“Crowdfund Derby is starting to gain some real momentum and we’re already starting to see how the platform is creating positive impacts in Derby communities. If you’ve got a community project that you want to get off the ground, come along to a workshop or talk to Community Action for advice on how to get started.”
